Out of the Shadows
Title: Out of the Shadows
Location: Northern British Columbia
Description:
The word photography comes from the Greek word "phōtós" meaning light and "graphê" meaning drawing or writing. I feel like "drawing with light" is such a beautiful way to think about photography. After all, everything that enters the camera's sensor is some kind of reflection of light.
Lighting is something that I'm incredibly picky about because it has such a huge impact on how photos look. The lighting technique used in this photo is called backlighting which creates a rim of light around the subject but keeps the rest of the subject in the shade. While it may seem strange at first, this look is created by shooting toward the sun
